On February 10, 2001, Ron proposed to me and I accepted. Just before Pennsic (early August) I worked up the invitations; we sent them out at Pennsic and right afterwards, and I set up the original webpage.
The day of the wedding dawned cloudy and rainy. This caused us a little worry as we had planned to have the ceremony outdoors, but by noon it started to clear and the sun came out. We were very relieved.
The ceremony got underway at about 3:30 and I've been told it was beautiful. I cried as I gave Ron my personal vows and then he choked his way through his own. We exchanged rings and were pronounced united "in the name of God beyond us, God within us, and God between us."
Our friends and family then gathered in the hall and we had the reception, which was the best party I've been to in years. I remarked to Ron that it felt wonderful to have so many of our best friends together in one place having such a good time.
The feast was incredible. Lady Olga Kaf'skaia and her husband Bela did an amazing job; my only regret was that I was stuffed before I finished the first plate brought to me! That's OK, we have so many leftovers that I'll be remembering that meal for a LONG time! :-)
The cake was beautiful and we posed in front of it, mirroring the figures on the top layer. The cake topper was made by the wonderful lady at http://www.rightbraincreations.com and is adorable.
