Expository Paper: Mormon Polygamy: A Historiographic Review (2008, PDF)

Written for my History of Sexuality class, this paper examines the history of plural marriage in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the 19th century.

Position Paper: Sacrifice in Ancient Israel (2006, PDF)

Submitted as my final paper for a class on Syro-Palestinian archaeology, this paper introduces the concepts and theologies behind sacrifice in an ancient Near Eastern context and takes up the controversial question of whether or not the practice of child sacrifice was ever a practice of the ancient Israelite people as it occasionally was for other Near Eastern cultures.
